Leftists have been on a decades-long crusade to make all aspects of life political.
Even the sports world has been overtaken by politics.
And a star football coach left everyone speechless after supporting one Joe Biden scheme.
Joe Biden’s presidency is in shambles.
After one year in office, his poll numbers are in the gutter, and he’s under water with voters on every issue from the economy to COVID.
Also, moderate senators Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona nixed his big-government legislative agenda.
Biden and the Democrats’ last-ditch effort is to pass radical voter reform bills that would nationalize election laws and make elections less secure by enshrining universal mail-in voting, a controversial procedure that was only temporary due to COVID.
Even prominent Democrats like Jimmy Carter and former DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz have argued that universal mail-in voting is ripe for fraud.
Biden and the Democrats are suspiciously desperate to get this legislation passed even though their boogeyman of voter suppression is nonexistent, and they’re using celebrities to push the agenda.
Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban is one of the luminaries that has been roped into pushing Biden’s agenda.
Saban and other prominent West Virginia sports figures, including Jerry West and Oliver Luck, signed a letter to Manchin urging him to support the Democrats’ voting reforms.
The letter read:
We come from some of our Nation’s most popular sports leagues, conferences and teams. Some of us have roots and shaped our lives in West Virginia, others followed very different paths and some of us have been rivals in sports or business. But we are all certain that democracy is best when voting is open to everyone on a level playing field; the referees are neutral; and at the end of the game the final score is respected and accepted.”
The Democrats are trying to convince the country that voting rights are under assault, but it’s utter nonsense.
Laws passed by Republican legislatures have simply reverted back to pre-emergency voting guidelines, and some are requiring photo ID, an initiative that’s supported by 80% of Americans and 62% of Democrats.
Saban, however, gave himself an out.
He included an addendum to the letter that stated he was not in favor of killing the Senate filibuster.
The Democrats do not have anywhere near 60 votes to pass their agenda, and Manchin and Sinema will not agree to ending the filibuster so their party can cram through legislation with Vice President Kamala Harris as the tiebreaker.
Saban’s footnote read:
“Coach Saban is not in favor of getting rid of the filibuster in the Senate. He believes this will destroy the checks and balances we must have in our Democracy…The others signing this letter take no position on this aspect of Senate policies.”
Manchin made note of Saban’s caveat when addressing the letter.
The senator said:
“Coach Saban is exactly right. You cannot throw the filibuster out and expect the legislative process to work better. I wholeheartedly agree with the coaches that ‘Our democracy is at its best when all Americans are encouraged to participate.’”
Biden’s legislative agenda is already dead, and he and the Democrats know it.
That’s why they’re attempting a Hail Mary through relentless media and social pressure.
So far, Manchin and Sinema are not budging.
