America remains under assault from the radical left.
Politicians, entertainers, journalists, and intellectuals constantly pull at the fabric of the country.
Now a famed musician disrespected the national anthem in one ugly scene.
Ever since former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick started the anti-American anthem protests in 2016, they have spread like wildfire.
Even other countries began protesting their own anthems.
Kaepernick was turned into a hero by the corporate media, and other celebrities followed suit.
Over the past six years, the protests have receded, but they have not stopped altogether.
And famed musician John Mellencamp was recorded at an NFL game sitting and eating popcorn during the rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner.
From Fox News:
“John Mellencamp, the renowned singer-songwriter who famously sang ‘Ain’t That America,’ was pictured sitting for the national anthem during the Indianapolis Colts-Philadelphia Eagles game Sunday. Mellencamp was in a box high above Lucas Oil Stadium…The singer was seen sitting and eating popcorn while others around him had their hands over their hearts and listening to ‘The Star-Spangled Banner.’ The 71-year-old in the past has been an open supporter of former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick and the Black Lives Matter movement. Kaepernick created a firestorm in 2016 when he protested during the national anthem before NFL games. His decision to take a knee to bring attention to police brutality and racial injustice was met with scorn and praise.”

Mellencamp, whose publicist once characterized him as an “ardent leftist,” has long been a supporter of left-wing causes.
He also performed at a Barack Obama rally.
Fox News continued:
“In 2018, just days before Super Bowl LI at U.S. Bank Stadium, Mellencamp appeared on the ‘Late Show with Stephen Colbert’ and took a knee and raised a fist in the air after singing ‘Easy Target.’ Mellencamp blamed then-President Trump and his administration for politicizing Kaepernick’s decision to kneel.”
Mellencamp said of Trump, “Taking the knee started purely and simply as a protest of racial and social injustice…Sadly, it was politicized by the current administration. The song is simple and the protest is pure.”
This is either dishonest or naive.
Kaepernick was radicalized by 1960s Bay Area socialists, so his protest was intended to stoke a political firestorm.
His protest was supposedly in response to police brutality against unarmed black citizens, but the incidents—such as Michael Brown in Ferguson—had already been investigated by the DOJ under the Obama administration.
After the initial protest, Kaepernick signed endorsement deals with the biggest corporations in the world: Penguin Random House, Nike, Disney, and Netflix.
His “simple” protest morphed into a movement for prison abolition; he promoted the work of communist activist Angela Davis, who left the Communist Party USA because she felt it was not radical enough.
Mellencamp and other celebrities have been instrumental at tearing at the thread of America in support of some utopian left-wing vision that only leads to more death and despair.
