Leftist activists have become completely uninhibited.
They are ruining everything, even the world of sports.
And “woke” ESPN just got called out for its ridiculous promotion of one athlete.
In 2016, a higher percentage of sports journalists voted for Hillary Clinton than did political journalists.
So with that in mind, it’s not hard to understand how sports media has become so unbearably “woke.”
ESPN, under the “woke” Disney umbrella, has devolved into cartoonish left-wing politics with too many examples to note.
And recently, ESPN honored University of Pennsylvania transgender swimmer Lia Thomas, who was born William Thomas, during Women’s History Month.
The irony and absurdity was too thick for many viewers.
OutKick sports commentator David Hookstead wrote, “ESPN celebrated Women’s History Month by promoting a special about transgender swimmer Lia Thomas……a biological male who destroyed real women in the pool…How can any woman work at ESPN after this? The network is just openly mocking them at this point.”

University of Kentucky swimmer and biological female Riley Gaines, who had to compete against Thomas, ripped ESPN for running the segment as part of Women’s History Month.
Gaines wrote on Twitter, “Lia Thomas is not a brave, courageous woman who EARNED a national title. He is an arrogant, cheat who STOLE a national title from a hardworking, deserving woman. The [NCAA] is responsible. If I was a woman working at ESPN, I would walk out. You’re spineless [ESPN].”
Leftist activists have tried to argue that biological males competing against women have no advantage – and even if they do, it doesn’t matter because being “inclusive” is more important.
First, biological male competitors who have gone through puberty have a massive advantage.
When competing against men, Thomas was ranked 462nd and 554th in different events.
Competing against women, Thomas finished number one overall.
Second, there are scholarships and accolades on the line—not to mention the social cohesion of competing against peers—so it’s ridiculous to say it doesn’t matter if biological males romp through the competition.
The issue has gotten so out-of-hand, sports organizations are beginning to create guidelines to safeguard against mockeries like this happening in the future.
Sebastian Coe of the World Athletics Council said, “Decisions are always difficult when they involve conflicting needs and rights between different groups, but we continue to take the view that we must maintain fairness for female athletes above all other considerations…We will be guided in this by the science around physical performance and male advantage which will inevitably develop over the coming years. As more evidence becomes available, we will review our position, but we believe the integrity of the female category in athletics is paramount.”
Not only is the science irrefutable, but there’s also just plain common sense.
Sports are segregated by sex for a reason.
The idea that men should be competing against women in sports at elite levels exemplifies the insanity of the present moment.
