The days of sports without politics are over.
Leftists ruined that reality for good.
Now ESPN had a moment of silence for something that will leave you speechless.
Disney is currently in the midst of a “woke” takeover.
New CEO Bob Chapek said that he wanted the company to stay out of politics, but he’s already caved to his left-wing employees, who were livid over Florida’s Parental Rights in Education bill that Governor Ron DeSantis intends to sign.
The piece of legislation—that the Left have slandered as the “Don’t Say Gay” bill—prohibits public schools from engaging in classroom discussions about sexual orientation and gender identity in grades K-3.
Nowhere in the bill does the word “gay” appear, but Democrats are lying about it nevertheless.
Chapek rightly chose to stay out of it, but he quickly bent the knee to the leftist activists that work underneath him.
Now progressive employees at Disney subsidiary ESPN are engaging in on-air protests against the Florida bill.
Elle Duncan, host on a network that is supposed to cover sports, shoehorned politics into a segment.
ESPN interrupted its coverage of women’s NCAA tournament for a moment of silence to protest the “don’t say gay,” bill. So is @espn’s official policy as a company that public schools need to teach kindergarten through 3rd grade kids about sex?! Insanity: pic.twitter.com/cJjQAMQVZL

And she wasn’t alone.
ESPN’s broadcasters for the NCAA women’s basketball tournament took a moment of silence in protest against the Florida bill that made it illegal to teach sexual orientation and gender identity to pre-K through 3rd graders.

This is how deep the political infestation has gotten at Disney and its different networks.
The Wall Street Journal reported that the “first big test of its policy of neutrality…exacerbated employee, politician and fan resentment toward Mr. Chapek. Disney initially was silent on the bill, then came out against it after it passed and said it had worked against the legislation behind the scenes…By the end of last week, Mr. Chapek apologized for his failure to make a strong public statement against the Florida bill, saying he had always opposed it and had privately lobbied against it for weeks. He also promised to pause political giving in the state and to fight similar legislation in other states.”
It didn’t take long for Chapek to abandon ship.
Now his employees are openly advocating for leftist policy.
The Journal added that “Disney’s response to the Florida bill managed to offend both progressives, who wanted the company to do and say more to fight the bill, and conservatives, who wanted Disney to stay out of the debate and now claim it is bowing to liberal agitators within its ranks.”
Conservatives are content to remain neutral, but leftists always want blood.
That’s why American society and culture are so chaotic right now.
