COVID has hit virtually all industries hard.
Hollywood was majorly disrupted because of the pandemic.
Now one Disney star could be out of a major franchise because of Joe Biden’s insane mandate.
Joe Biden and the COVID regime are determined to force everyone to get the vaccine irrespective of his or her individual health profile.
Biden’s unconstitutional mandate could throw millions of people out of their jobs.
And not even Hollywood stars are immune from the diktats of the COVID regime.
Letitia Wright of Disney’s Black Panther franchise could find herself unemployed after refusing to get the vaccine.
From pop culture site Giant Freakin Robot:
“Letitia Wright allegedly doesn’t want to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe because she is unwilling to get the vaccine…While the actress herself hasn’t publicly disclosed her vaccination status, both The Hollywood Reporter and Newsweek have heard from their sources that she is unvaccinated. During the summer of 2021, Disney issued a mandate for COVID-19 vaccinations on their sets. That mandate reportedly didn’t apply to Black Panther 2, as it was already underway, but will for future Marvel Cinematic Universe productions. If Letitia Wright is unvaccinated and doesn’t want to change that, she may be frustrated and ready to be done with Marvel/Disney.”
Wright is a devout Christian who is reportedly reluctant to get the vaccine.
There was chatter that she even expressed her concerns about the vaccine to other members of the cast and crew.
From The Hollywood Reporter:
“While vaccine skeptics are far less likely to voice their opinions publicly, plenty of industry holdouts remain. A number of performers, from Rob Schneider (now shooting Netflix’s Home Team) to Letitia Wright (filming Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever) have shared anti-vaccine positions on social media. In Wright’s case, a set source says she has espoused similar views about the COVID-19 vaccines on the Atlanta production. The British actress quietly parted ways with her entire U.S. team of representatives in the wake of a backlash over posting a controversial anti-vaccine video in December.”
Nothing has been confirmed, but if Wright leaves the franchise due to vaccine mandates, that will be another huge blow to the series.
Lead actor Chadwick Boseman tragically died of cancer which threw the Marvel Cinematic Universe into flux because Black Panther is central to the studio’s plans.
Wright wouldn’t be the first actor to walk away from a production due to COVID restrictions.
Actor Ice Cube reportedly refused a role because of the studio’s vaccine mandate; he reportedly walked away from $9 million payday.
Emilio Estavez was rumored to have left The Mighty Ducks television series due to the COVID mandates.
The vaccine mandates have a chance to significantly disrupt the industry.
Not only do the COVID protocols make filming much more costly and tenuous due to scheduling issues, some actors and crew members simply will not comply.
If Wright defects, it would be the most shocking example yet.
