Political correctness has gone way too far.

Now Disney is about to “cancel” beloved characters for an insane reason.
Disney looks to be testing the theory of “get woke, go broke.”
The company tried to stop Florida governor Ron DeSantis from signing the Parental Rights in Education bill, which protected children in grades K-3 from classroom indoctrination regarding sexual orientation and gender identity.
Now Disney is reviewing its film library in search of “problematic” characters.
Leftists argue that characters like Tinker Bell and Captain Hook from Peter Pan might require Disney to slap a “woke” disclaimer on the film at minimum.
From The New York Times:
“The Stories Matter team privately flagged other characters as potentially problematic, with the findings distributed to senior Disney leaders, according to two current Disney executives, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss confidential information. Ursula, the villainous sea witch from ‘The Little Mermaid’ (1989), was one. Her dark color palette (lavender skin, black legs) could be viewed through a racial lens, the Stories Matter team cautioned; she is also a ‘queer coded’ character, with mannerisms inspired in part by those of a real-life drag queen. Tinker Bell was marked for caution because she is ‘body conscious’ and jealous of Peter Pan’s attention, according to the executives, while Captain Hook could expose Disney to accusations of discrimination or prejudice against individuals with disabilities because he is a villain.”
Everything leftism touches eventually gets destroyed.
Disney is a behemoth company, but they wouldn’t be the first mega-corporation to fail.
But that’s what could happen if Disney leans into over-the-top wokeness.
The Times continued:
“At least some people inside Disney are concerned that such sensitivities go too far. One of the executives worried that looking at artistic creations through a ‘politically correct filter’ could chill creativity.”
The scourge of political correctness is infesting the entire entertainment industry, and viewers do not like it.
Disney is also hurt by the fact that some of their employees openly admitted they have a political agenda.

Disney could have stayed neutral, but instead they chose to side with the political left.
Martin Kaplan, an entertainment media professor at USC, explained, “The mission for the Disney brand has always been really clear: Do nothing that might upset or confuse the family audience…Fun for all. Nothing objectionable. Let’s all be transformed by the magic wand. But we are so divided today, so revved up, that even Disney is having a hard time bringing us together.”
The problem is that leftists don’t want to bring people together; they want their political opponents to bend the knee.
And when their opponents don’t, leftists label them as “divisive.”
But conservatives are not the ones trying to ban Tinker Bell and Captain Hook.
