The Democrats are out for revenge against Donald Trump and all Republicans.
Joe Biden’s victory did not quench their bloodlust.
Now Democrats are pushing Hollywood to attack Trump with one underhanded move.
Donald Trump is out of office, but the Trump Derangement Syndrome of the left continues.
Hollywood in particular has a virulent strain of TDS.
Getting Joe Biden elected wasn’t enough because Democrats are “sore winners,” as pro-Trump music producer Ariel Pink put it.
Now there are calls for the entertainment industry to create more anti-Trump content.
Alan Jenkins wrote in The Hollywood Reporter:
“We need new, shared narratives that artfully articulate the elements and dangers of Trumpism. President Trump, aided by people still in power today, repeatedly divided Americans against each other, attacked free speech and the press, cruelly separated families, embraced white supremacy, traded in lies, and made a mockery of our justice system.”
The new target of “Trumpism” shows exactly what the left is thinking; instead of Orange Man Bad, the new narrative is Orange Men Bad.
All 74 million Trump voters are grist for the mill.
Jenkins also traffics in classic leftist projection.
It’s been the so-called mainstream media and Democrat politicians that have divided the country.
Hillary Clinton called Trump supporters a “basket of deplorables,” and Barack Obama spied on journalists and jailed whistleblowers.
The corporate press has been so dishonest that public trust in the media is at an all-time low.
The Hollywood Reporter continued:
“He and his allies participated in a violent insurrection and attempted to overturn a fair election. And like McCarthyism, the worst elements of Trumpism will outlive his departure from office. Unchecked, they will fester and potentially grow.”
Again, Jenkins is engaging in projection.
The Democrats spent four years trying to overturn the 2016 election with the ridiculous Russiagate hoax.
Prior to that, Hollywood celebrities created a video urging electors not to vote for Trump in the electoral college.
And Democrats like Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell are the ones behaving like McCarthyites.
Schiff went on television numerous times and said he’d seen evidence of Russian collusion, but he was unable to divulge it.
Swalwell called Trump an “agent” of Vladimir Putin on MSNBC.
The Hollywood Reporter added:
“Hollywood has a role and a responsibility, not to preach, but to use its creativity and storytelling prowess to remind us who we aspire to be as a people and what we must perpetually fight against…Muslim Americans, Mexican Americans, African Americans, Jewish Americans, and Transgender Americans are just some of the groups vilified and attacked by Trumpism and its devotees.”
Hollywood has used the technique of shifting culture through storytelling for decades, but they’ve become so transparent in their propaganda that it’s losing potency.
Jenkins also ignores the fact that Trump got the highest Republican share of the nonwhite vote since 1960.
He notably increased his support among black and latino voters, and his support from the LGBT community doubled.
The American people are tired of proselytizing from Hollywood, but that won’t stop activists within the industry.
