While almost all of the entertainment industry leans left in the political arena; they’ve also taken it to the most anti-GOP and anti-President Trump level that you could possibly imagine.
However, Country Music stars are the last leg in the fight for pro-conservatism in this country.
And one country music superstar, Tim McGraw, just said three words to the people voting in 2020 that will shock everyone.
It’s one of those things where you think are they with us or against us?
Country music stars have a staunch representation of being conservative and the Democrat amongst them is certainly an outlier.
For instance, recently, John Rich put out a smash hit country song called “Shut Up About Politics”, which entered the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 91 and it doesn’t look like it’s slowing down. The track surged 4-1 on Country Digital Song Sales with 33,000 sold, according to Nielsen Music, and it also flies 41-17 on Hot Country Songs and has soared to the top of iTunes downloads.
But then there are country music singers like Tim McGraw.
The three words he said to people were, “I’m an American,” and followed it up with how and why people need to still vote in 2020.
McGraw told a news crew outside on the New York Streets, “You gotta vote man, everybody’s got to vote their conscience and show up. No matter what you believe.”
Tim McGraw has had feature roles in “The Blind Side,” “Friday Night Lights,” “The Kingdom,” “Tomorrowland” and “Four Christmases.”
And, yes, he’s apparently a Democrat.
Most country music singers lean to the right so it wasn’t a surprise to see most were furious to hear his political affiliation.
McGraw expressed his support for former President Barack Obama several times including in 2008 and 2018.
With that said, outside of the ABC building in New York City recently, he spoke to TMZ saying, “I’m an American, man. And I love being an American,” when asked about his allegiance to the Democratic Party. Yes, he’s a Democrat. Shocking, isn’t it?
With 23 Democrats currently vying for the party’s nomination to run against incumbent candidate Donald Trump in the 2020 general election, McGraw attempted to prohibit his fans’ votes for anyone. However, he did give a small piece of political advice to people who may be looking to him for it.
The country crooner is putting his money where his mouth is when it comes to loving America. Along with author Jon Meacham, he is promoting the book “Songs of America: Patriotism, Protest, and the Music That Made a Nation.”
According to People, the text explores the most important and critical moments in American history through songs like “The Star-Spangled Banner” and “Born in the U.S.A.”
