Conservatives have been losing the culture war for decades.
But they’re finally fighting back in smart and effective ways.
Now a conservative media company made a huge announcement about one television project.
Republicans are slowly beginning to realize that electoral politics is not enough.
Leftists are effective because they fight politically as well as culturally.
They push their values and worldview in almost every single movie, television show, play, song, and pop novel.
And if the right wants to spread its values, it needs to ramp up its efforts on the culture war front.
That’s why The Daily Wire got into the film and television production game, and the company just announced it acquired the exclusive rights to Ayn Rand’s novel “Atlas Shrugged.”
From The Daily Wire:
“DailyWire+ has acquired exclusive film and television rights to Ayn Rand’s ‘Atlas Shrugged,’ and will develop a series based on the groundbreaking 1957 novel, company co-CEO Jeremy Boreing announced Thursday. Plans for the series follow a year of blockbuster content, including the internationally-acclaimed documentary, ‘What is a Woman?’ and the gritty western starring Gina Carano, ‘Terror on the Prairie.’ Boreing announced plans for the streaming series at a livestreamed town hall address in which he also revealed that DailyWire+ has now surpassed one million paid subscribers.”
The Daily Wire has also gotten into content creation for kids because Disney and other companies have explicitly added “woke” messaging into shows and movies.
Disney executive producer Latoya Raveneau even got caught on camera admitting, “Our leadership over there has been so welcoming to like, my like, not-at-all secret gay agenda…I was basically adding queerness to the show, if you see anything queer in the show, ‘The Proud Family,’ nobody would stop me and nobody was trying to stop me.”
Leftists are getting bolder and more overt in their indoctrination methods.
Boreing announced, “When we decided in 2020 to launch into entertainment, my vision at that time was to bring Ayn Rand’s seminal work on the creative power of economic freedom and the terrible consequences of its loss to the screen as a premium series…The obvious problem, we thought, is that we would never be able to get the rights to such a culturally ubiquitous work. I was wrong…Today, I am thrilled to announce that DailyWire+ has acquired the exclusive rights to one of the most influential books of the 20th Century.”
A trilogy of films based on the book was released in 2011, 2012, and 2014, but with such dense source material, a television series would probably do it better justice.
The Daily Wire continued:
“Boreing vowed that the series will be true to the book’s message, plot, and character archetypes. The book — which has sold over seven million copies worldwide — champions Rand’s theory of objective reality and morality. Set in an over-regulated, dystopian United States and told from the perspective of railroad executive and protagonist Dagny Taggart and the fiercely individualistic leader John Galt, it promotes the theme that self-interest is not only the most moral, but also the only viable way to organize society.”
As Hollywood trends in an ever-increasing “woke” direction, there need to be places for apolitical or right-leaning projects to be produced.
Daily Wire is building out that infrastructure, and if they’re successful, perhaps other companies will follow suit.
