Comedy is under constant threat these days.
That’s the consequence of political correctness run amok.
And a comedian made one joke in his standup special that left liberals enraged.
The “woke” left attacks anyone who steps out of line at all.
That’s why Dave Chappelle has been ruthlessly criticized by the radical left even though he’s been a lifelong liberal.
Now left-leaning comic Bill Burr is getting put through the wringer for a joke he told about abortion.
Burr conceded that he was pro-choice, but also acknowledged that abortion was killing a baby.
He began, “Pro-choice always made sense to me because I don’t like people telling me what to do, and I was just like, it’s your body, who the f*ck am I to tell you what to do with your body? So that always made sense…However, I still think you’re killing a baby.”
Burr then compared abortion to destroying a cake before it’s finished baking.
He said, “That would be if I was making a cake, and I poured some batter into a pan, and I put it in the oven, and then five minutes later, you came by, and you grabbed the pan, and you threw it across the floor And I went, ‘What the f*ck? You just ruined my birthday cake.’ And you were like, ‘That wasn’t cake, yet.’”
The crowd howled and Burr continued, “‘Well, it would have been if you didn’t just do what you just did…There would have been a cake in 50 minutes. Something happened to the cake, you cake-murdering son of a b*tch.’”

Burr isn’t afraid to make fun of everybody, which used to be what comedians did.
But the radical left has no sense of humor.
Burr recently rankled the left when he stuck up for Gina Carano, with whom he co-starred in Disney’s The Mandalorian.
Carano was fired from the show after expressing conservative opinions on social media.
The comedian said, “I thought it was funny that the liberals proved her point. They just use outrage because they don’t like your politics. As someone who considers himself liberal, it’s disappointing to see the left become how the right used to be when they went after the Dixie Chicks after they criticized George W. Bush. There’s not a lot of people like that — most are just trying not to get in trouble — but there’s this small collection of lunatics — either on the right or the left, at any given moment – that cause hysteria. And now there’s so many [media outlets] that want eyeballs, they make money off advertising, that they give attention to these crazy fringe people.”
Abortion has been revived as a hot-button issue after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in the Dobbs decision.
Fellow comic Andrew Schulz pulled his comedy special from Netflix after they demanded he remove a joke about abortion.
Schulz bought back his own special, and self-released it in order to stand up for comedic expression.
