We’re still a long way out before the first Tuesday in November 2020 where one of the twenty-three Democratic nominee bidders will face off against incumbent President Trump.
It’s too early to tell who will win the nomination. Former Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders were leading but are falling fast; while Senators Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris and South Bend Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg are all surging. But it could be that the eventual Democratic nominee hasn’t been announced yet.
But Hollywood’s biggest liberal, Bill Maher, thinks this one Hollywood celebrity is the only person who can defeat President Trump in 2020.
President Trump trolled liberals so hard with a recent video he posted on Twitter that had liberals furious and foaming at the mouth. To the rest of us, it was a hilarious joke. But they didn’t take it that way.
Trump tweeted a TIME Magazine video of Trump “winning” elections throughout the years, faster and faster, and then finally concluding that he’ll be president “4eva.”

It was undoubtedly a joke but liberals only think something is funny at Trump’s expense rather than vice versa. All you have to do is look in the comment section to see all the vitriol in response to the hyperbolic troll job.
One person wrote, “bold of you to assume we’ll be alive in 2030,” and another added, “bold of him to assume HE will be alive in 2030.”
But there is an actual fear amongst liberals that Trump will refuse to leave office if he were to lose in 2020 or when his second term is up on January 20th 2025.
One of those people is HBO “Real Time” host Bill Maher who has mentioned this on many occasions recently.
He told CNN’s Chris Cuomo, “One of those things, to take up your point, that I’ve been talking about for years now—almost three years—that a lot of people are talking about now is that if he loses, Trump, he won’t go. I’ve been saying that since before he got elected, that if he loses the second time, if he loses the coming election—and Michael Cohen said that, Nancy Pelosi echoed, said that, a lot of people now, and I think that we have to worry about.”
But Maher’s not hopeful that any of the Democratic field will beat Trump in 2020 anyway.
In fact, the only person he believes could defeat the incumbent 45th president in 2020 is none other than Hollywood media mogul Oprah Winfrey.
Maher said in his monologue on Friday’s episode of “Real Time,” “the only person who is a sure thing is Oprah Winfrey.”
He later added, “I am telling you that at this particular moment in history, in this particular election year, she is the only candidate who is a sure thing winner for the Democrats.”
The 63-year-old comedian and political host believes Winfrey “checks all the boxes,” because she would energize more bases than the other Democratic contenders like the African American base, the female base and also wouldn’t “scare” white men. Seemingly Kamala Harris, who is also African American, doesn’t “check those boxes?”
Winfrey already turned the idea of running for president down after she gave her acceptance award speech for the lifetime achievement Cecil B. DeMille Award at the Golden Globes a little less than two years ago. She said in April about running for the Democratic nomination, “I know my path and my path isn’t that.”
Oprah Winfrey could change her mind but it would be a long shot.
