People are already geared for the 2024 presidential race.
On the GOP side, Donald Trump won’t have a cakewalk to the nomination.
And Bill Maher made a shocking prediction about Trump versus Ron DeSantis.
Liberal comedian Bill Maher has angered many of his supporters on the Left for refusing to go along with all of the leftist dogma.
For instance, Maher was a constant critic of the draconian COVID lockdowns and vaccine mandates.
That’s one of the reasons he believes Florida Governor Ron DeSantis handled COVID much better than other governors.
And Maher believes that DeSantis could defeat Donald Trump in the 2024 primary if the field thins out quickly.
But Maher thinks Trump will win if several also-rans split the anti-Trump vote.
Maher sat down with CNN’s Jake Tapper and said, “The only way Trump doesn’t get that nomination is if it’s just him and DeSantis. If it’s a bunch of people in there, yes, they’re going to split the anti-Trump vote, because, Trump has a very hard-core following.”
The so-called mainstream media cannot seem to decide if they prefer Trump or DeSantis to be the nominee.
The way they’re attacking DeSantis, it stands to reason they believe the Democrats have a better chance against Trump in a general election.
Plus, Trump attracts eyeballs to news coverage.
Maher relayed what a conservative confessed to him.
He told Tapper, “Somebody said to me once, a conservative guy, he said, ‘The thing you guys don’t understand about us is we don’t really like Trump.’ Now that doesn’t speak for all the Trumpers. He definitely has some real fans…But there’s a lot of people who voted for him, and that’s their little secret, ‘We don’t like him, either. We just vote for him because the stuff that you guys are doing on your fringe is scarier to us than what he’s doing,’ which is saying a lot. And I’m not quite with them, but I get it.”
Bill Maher – who has made numerous correct predictions on Trump – says that only Ron DeSantis can beat Trump and that he will beat Trump if there’s a small number of candidates running.

The Democrats are allowing fringe radicals to run the party, and they think there won’t be repercussions.
They got away with it because of around-the-clock Orange Man Bad coverage, but if DeSantis were the nominee, that just won’t fly.
Trump is saving his harshest attacks for DeSantis, so he, too, realizes that is his main competition.
He’s called the Florida governor “Ron DeSanctimonious” multiple times and said, “I don’t know if [DeSantis] is running. I think if he runs, he could hurt himself very badly…I really believe he could hurt himself badly. I think he would be making a mistake. I think the base would not like it — I don’t think it would be good for the party…If he runs, he runs…I would tell you things about him that won’t be very flattering — I know more about him than anybody — other than, perhaps, his wife.”
Despite the stern words from Trump, DeSantis seems to be preparing for a spirited run in 2024.
