The entertainment industry has been near universal in its condemnation of Donald Trump.
Over the past five years, one celebrity after another lined up to attack Trump and other Republicans.
But one anti-Trump rock star infuriated activists when he did one thing.
Bruce Springsteen has long been a political shill for the Democrat Party.
He’s performed at DNC events, and hobnobbed with Nancy Pelosi backstage at events.
The establishment left fawned over his recent Jeep commercial during the Super Bowl where he called for unity.
However, Springsteen and other Democrats weren’t calling for unity when Donald Trump was in office. It wasn’t until Joe Biden won the presidency that pleas for unity began.
Even still, rabid anti-Trumpers are out for revenge.
MSNBC RINO Nicolle Wallace even floated the idea of drone-striking Republicans.
But Springsteen was attacked for his ad by Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) when it came to light that he was arrested for driving while intoxicated back in November.
MADD National President Alex Otte said in a statement:
“Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) is outraged to learn that Bruce Springsteen was arrested three months ago for drunk and reckless driving…The fact that this arrest was not revealed by authorities in New Jersey until after Springsteen’s appearance driving a Jeep in a high-priced Super Bowl commercial is infuriating.”
Springsteen is part of the establishment elite, so there was no doubt he would be protected at all costs, ironic because Springsteen built his reputation on being the working man’s rock star.
He’s now worth roughly half a billion dollars and swims in elite power circles.
“Drunk driving is the number one killer on America’s roads. The 10,000 people killed and 300,000 people who are injured every year deserve better. Victims and families deserve for every drunk driving offense to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law as a violent, 100% preventable crime every time. No excuses, no exceptions.”
Springsteen’s hollow call for unity was just one of the eye-rolling commercials during the Super Bowl.
Many fans complained about the deluge of “woke” ads that contributed to a poor ratings performance for the game.
The NFL has to be concerned about the drop in viewership.
Fans have not at all been enamored with the league’s embrace of progressive politics.
As a result of the loss in revenue—in large part due to COVID—the NFL salary cap will be decreasing.
Typically the cap goes up, but there’s a smaller pot to share so players will be forced to settle for less lucrative contracts.
Unlike other leagues, the NFL has a hard cap that teams must operate beneath each season.
With Trump out of office, it’s yet to be seen where Democrats like Springsteen will focus their energy.
Turning every random Republican into Donald Trump isn’t going to work in the long run.
