ESPN no longer pretends to be a nonpartisan sports network.
Fans hoping to get apolitical sports content will have to look elsewhere.
And anti-Trump ESPN personalities celebrated after one thing happened.
As the left has gained more and more cultural power and secularized society, Democrats have turned politicians into religious figures.
Democrats view Joe Biden’s inauguration as a form of canonization and the end of Donald Trump’s presidency as a form of excommunication.
Several personalities at “woke” ESPN made that very clear by rejoicing once Biden was sworn in.
— Max Kellerman (@maxkellerman) January 20, 2021
Kellerman was a constant critic of Trump during his entire presidency.
He even chastised sports stars for “normalizing” Trump by not outright condemning him like every member of the woke clique.
Kellerman wasn’t alone in his glee.
For four insane years, the single most influential figure in sports has been Donald Trump, who’s used his bully pulpit to fire off an endless stream of takes. But that’s all about to change. #ESPNDaily: pic.twitter.com/NifKVDHm8O
— Pablo S. Torre (@PabloTorre) November 9, 2020
Torre actually touched on why Democrats hate Trump so much; he fought the culture war.
For decades, the left has taken for granted that they control the culture.
Trump was the first Republican since perhaps Ronald Reagan to fight the culture war, which affects so much of the nation’s politics.
Trump-deranged ESPN play-by-play announcer Mark Jones also celebrated.

In the midst of the Black Lives Matter riots, Jones virtue-signaled by saying he wanted to cancel police protection at stadiums for fear of being shot by the police.
ESPN has chosen to become a progressive sports network.
After losing millions of subscribers, ESPN stepped back from politics.
But they reversed course yet again in 2020.
The encroachment of politics and sports is ultimately bad for the culture.
Sports was one of the institutions that brought people together, but now Democrats will use sports to further divide the nation.
