Professional sports have been ruined by the rise of “wokeness.”
Progressive politics are dividing sports fans along with the rest of the nation.
Now anti-American anthem protests forced one NBA team to undertake an unbelievable action.
Colin Kaepernick’s anti-American national anthem protest has spread like wildfire since 2016.
The Democrat Media Complex was all too eager to spread the leftist message far and wide.
Now the anthem has become “controversial.”
NBA forward Jonathan Isaac was hounded by reporters for not kneeling for the anthem when the league resumed play to conclude the 2020 season.
The pendulum has swung so far to the left regarding the anthem, The Dallas Mavericks stopped playing it before games altogether.
From The Athletic:
“The Dallas Mavericks have ceased playing the national anthem before home games this season and do not plan to play it moving forward, a decision made by owner Mark Cuban that he confirmed to The Athletic on Monday evening…None of 13 preseason and regular-season games played at the American Airlines Center this season have featured the anthem before the game.”
This represents just how much American culture has been fractured.
If the country can’t rally around the National Anthem, then there isn’t much holding America together, which is precisely what the radical left wants.
The NBA experienced a massive ratings decline last season as it fully embraced the divisive rhetoric of Black Lives Matter.
The league recalibrated after a ratings collapse in the NBA finals and removed the social justice message that had been plastered on courts in “the bubble” in Orlando.
In that same spirit, NBA executives are pushing back against the Mavericks’ move.
NBA Chief Communications Officer Mike Bass: “With NBA teams now in the process of welcoming fans back into their arenas, all teams will play the national anthem in keeping with longstanding league policy.”

The NBA has become the most “woke” of the major sports leagues; the Milwaukee Bucks boycotted a playoff game after the shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha, Wisconsin, which triggered a boycott among the entire league that spread to other leagues.
Ironically, it was the NBA that mandated players stand for the anthem back in 1996 after Denver Nuggets guard Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf protested.
The Mavericks’ anthem move will undoubtedly mobilize activists to their cause, which will put pressure on the NBA.
It’s yet to be seen if the NBA will cave to the backlash.
They did in 2020 and it nearly killed the business.
If the NBA buckles to the mob, it will be a sign that the “woke” popes control the league.
The outrage mobs won’t stop until they keep hearing the word “no.”
