Another celebrity just claimed in an interview to be considering a future run for political office.
Unsurprisingly, the person in question was a large advocate of Hillary Clinton during the 2016 presidential race, as well as a vocal supporter of Planned Parenthood.
Now, the out-of-touch movie star is trying to use her fame to get what she wants – although, claims that her fame is the reason she has not yet run for office.
Scarlett Johansson, star of films such as The Avengers franchise, says she thinks running for local political office could be a possibility.
Breitbart News reported:
In a conversation with Good Morning America‘s Michael Strahan, the 32-year-old Avengers star said she has been “interested” in local politics for some time, but family commitments and her film career have kept her plenty busy.
“I’ve always, like I said, been interested in local politics,” the actress said. “Right now, I think with my young daughter and also the way my career is going right now … it’s just not the right time. But eventually, maybe when my daughter is older and I can totally focus myself on something like that, I think it could be interesting.”
The actress is certainly not afraid to share her political opinions.
The liberal actress was not only a supporter of ex-presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, but is a vocal supporter of Planned Parenthood.
The abortion advocate spoke at the Women’s March on Washington, a march to show support for women’s rights, but mostly promoted abortion policies and crazed liberal agendas.
Before the election, the celebrity also appeared in campaign videos for the Democratic Party, as well as public service announcements to encourage voter turnout at the polls on election day.
Breitbart News reported:
In her interview Wednesday, Johansson said she would continue to support left-wing organizations like Planned Parenthood even if it causes some people to stay away from her films.
“If fighting, you know, for women’s rights, for women’s reproductive rights, and you know, in support of Planned Parenthood, if that’s going to, you know, mean that some people don’t want to buy a ticket to see Ghost in the Shell, then … I’m OK with that,” she said.
Regardless of what Johansson thinks she could achieve in political office, out-of-touch celebrities simply have no place in the political world.
A large reason Hillary Clinton lost her presidential election was due to the fact she did not campaign for the people – in fact, she flat out ignored the blue-collar workers.
Celebrities like Johansson will simply fall into the same trap – their elitist views will cloud their judgement on what is right for all citizens, instead of showing support for something other than their chosen policies.
