Hollywood leftists are completely out of touch with reality.
They believe they can say anything and get the American people to go along with it.
Now one actress made an insane comparison for her co-star who faked a hate crime.
Actor Jussie Smollett was sentenced to 150 days in jail after pretending that he was the victim of an anti-black and anti-gay attack.
Smollett claimed that two MAGA-hat wearing racist homophobes recognized him in downtown Chicago in the middle of a polar vortex as an actor on the predominantly black melodrama Empire on Fox.
The whole story was bogus, and there was a mountain of evidence against him.
Smollett ended up being sentenced to 150 days in jail, and Empire co-star Taraji P. Henson called for him to be freed, but did so by comparing his case to the horrific Emmett Till murder.
Henson wrote on Instagram:
“I am not here to debate you on his innocence but we can agree that the punishment does not fit the crime. Emmett Till was brutally beat and ultimately murdered because of a lie and none of the people involved with his demise spent one day in jail, even after Carolyn Bryant admitted that her claims were false.”
Leftists often cheaply invoke Till’s murder to bolster whatever ridiculous argument they’re making.
For example, an MSNBC guest said that the Kyle Rittenhouse trial was “worse than Emmett Till.”
Smollett’s embarrassing hoax should not ever be compared in any way to a horrific, racist murder from nearly 70 years ago.
Henson continued:
“No one was hurt or killed during Jussie’s ordeal. He has already lost everything, EVERYTHING! To me as an artist not able to create that in itself is punishment enough. He can’t get a job. No one in Hollywood will hire him and again as an artist who loves to create, that is prison. My prayer is that he is freed and put on house arrest and probation because in this case that would seem fair. Please #freejussie.”
Henson left out an important detail: Smollett never accepted responsibility for what he did.
If Smollett had come clean, he possibly would have avoided criminal prosecution, but he maintains his innocence to this day.
Smollett was released after a few days in jail as he awaits an appeal on sentencing.
If Smollett loses his appeal, he will return to jail to serve out the rest of his sentence.
The arrogance of Smollett and his defenders are why so many people want to see him behind bars.
It’s bad enough that he could have started a violence race riot, but he doesn’t even have the integrity to show remorse.
If Smollett wants to go down with the lie, then he should serve every single day of his sentence.
This type of behavior should not be incentivized in any way.
His actions were so terrible, in Chicago progressives want to see him go down.
