Leave it to sports to stab our politicians in the back.
It wasn’t long ago that the Golden State Warriors refused to go to the White House because of President Trump.
Now a US Olympian is defying Vice President Mike Pence.
When the 2018 Winter Olympics opened, the first bit of drama occurred between gay figure skater Adam Rippon and VP Mike Pence.
As controversies go, Rippon disregarded Pence because of the Vice President’s detest towards him.
Pence reached out to Rippon and he declined.
The Vice President’s goal was to let him know that he’s proud of him representing America.
But he was met with vitriolic responses from Rippon.
When they asked Rippon if he wanted to come to the White House, of course, he said no with resounding emphasis.
Vice President Pence tweeted:
Headed to the Olympics to cheer on #TeamUSA. One reporter trying to distort 18 yr old nonstory to sow seeds of division. We won’t let that happen! #FAKENEWS. Our athletes are the best in the world and we are for ALL of them! #TEAMUSA

.@Adaripp I want you to know we are FOR YOU. Don’t let fake news distract you. I am proud of you and ALL OF OUR GREAT athletes and my only hope for you and all of #TeamUSA is to bring home the gold. Go get ‘em!

But Rippon doubled down on his hatred towards the Trump administration.
The Daily Caller reports:
Olympic figure skater Adam Rippon continues to go after Vice President Mike Pence.
Rippon, who is openly gay, said that Pence’s tweet about supporting him was “almost disingenuous.”
“The conversation — I really don’t have anything personally to say to Mike Pence,” Rippon said. “The conversation isn’t for me.
It’s for people whose lives have been changed by legislation that he’s pushed. Before the opening ceremonies, he tweeted at me and he said I want you to know that I’m for you and I’m for all the Olympians, which I think that’s great.
But I don’t believe it, because when I go home, are you still for me?”
“Are you still for other LGBTQ Americans?
Are you still for that trans man or woman that wants to join the military?
Are you still for that lesbian couple that wants to get married? That’s where I feel like the tweet is almost disingenuous.”
Rippon seems to be in the immature stages of his career, otherwise he wouldn’t have acted like this.
