Liberals are furious that Vice President Mike Pence and Ivanka Trump dared to represent the United States at the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea.
It’s amazingly counter-intuitive to defame anyone who shows up to support America during the world games.
But one U.S. Olympian took it too far and was instantly destroyed for his remarks.
Adam Rippon and Gus Kenworthy are the first openly-gay U.S. Olympians in Winter Olympics history.
Figure skater Rippon has been in the spotlight since before the opening ceremony when he said he would refuse to shake Mike Pence’s hand at the Olympics because he apparently hates gay people.
Pence respectfully reached out to Rippon and offered to meet with him to discuss the issue, but Rippon promptly refused and was hailed a hero among the left for the rebuff.
Rippon was even offered a contract by the liberal NBC to commentate for the rest of the 2018 Olympic games. Though to be fair, he declined that offer as well.
But Olympic skier Gus Kenworthy recently took it too far after posting a series of hateful tweets about Ivanka Trump and Mike Pence.
Breitbart reports:
“Gay U.S. Olympic skier Gus Kenworthy has a question for you: What “tf” is Ivanka Trump doing at the Winter Olympics?
Early Sunday morning, Kenworthy tweeted out a picture of his fellow Team USA competitors
So proud of all these people! Everybody here has worked so hard to make it to the Olympics and have the opportunity to walk in the closing ceremony! Well… Everyone except Ivanka. Honestly, tf is she doing here?? pic.twitter.com/sfJKi0VTDb

Ivanka’s presence at the Winter Olympics is pretty easily explained. According to the AP, “The elder daughter of U.S. President Donald Trump is watching the closing ceremony in the same box as South Korean President Moon Jae-In and top North Korean official Kim Yong Chol.
She has said the purpose of her visit is to advocate maximum pressure on North Korea to halt its nuclear program.”
Kenworthy’s shot at Ivanka wasn’t his only swipe at the the Trump Administration on Sunday:
Russia’s biggest win since the 2016 US Presidential election! https://t.co/UQU6cWPs8Z

Shortly after that, Kenworthy used an X-ray of his broken thumb to point out that, despite breaking his thumb, the silver lining was that the injury would prevent him from shaking Vice President Pence’s hand:
Broke my thumb yesterday in practice. It won’t stop me from competing (obvi) but it does prevent me from shaking Pence’s hand so… Silver linings! Will be giving my teammates (and literally everyone else) an enthusiastic “thumbs up!” of encouragement the rest of the trip. pic.twitter.com/XylPPGAq9P

But then the backlash ensued and Twitterverse let him have it.
Didn’t you finish last or in the bottom half of most of our ski competitions? I believe you did. Perhaps you should practice more on making yourself better and leave the political commentary to the experts.

Given your dreadful performance, the real question sir is what TF where you doing there?

Pretty https://t.co/2LK3dpJGce represent the US Olympic Team. And you push your hatred and dislike on our Vice President.Mind if I ask.Why is it okay for you to have your beliefs.Yet not okay for someone else.I do not recall him saying anything negative about you or your beliefs

Why don’t you take a look outside your little bubble.
People are sick to death of the divisiveness. They’re sick to death of celebrities, & musicians, & athletes, opening their big fat mouths about their “opinions”.
Just sing/dance/act/SKI.
Anything else? Expect backlash.

It’s amazing how vitriolic people can be towards someone who showed up because they care for our country.
