The Democratic Party is becoming unglued.
The party is teetering on the brink of embracing full-scale socialism as a political platform.
As Democrats slide further and further into madness, actress Susan Sarandon did something that sums up just how radical the party has become.
Despite their efforts to cover it up, the Democratic Party has long had uncomfortable ties to socialism and fascism.
Franklin D. Roosevelt was a deep admirer of Mussolini, a life-long avowed socialist and the godfather of European fascism.
In the 1950s and the succeeding decades, Democrats demonized Joe McCarthy for his overzealous pursuit of communists, trying to obscure the fact there were communist traitors embedded deep in America who were helping the Soviets fight the Cold War.
Hollywood has since become overrun with liberals and hard leftists who pump their point-of-view into the global culture through film and television.
One of the most notable rabid leftists is actress Susan Sarandon. In the 1980s, she went to Nicaragua to give aid to a group aligned with the communist Sandinistas; she supported Hugo Chavez in Venezuela, and once called the Pope a “Nazi.”
As one would expect, she’s a staunch critic of Donald Trump.
Sarandon was arrested with hundreds of other women for unlawfully demonstrating outside the U.S. Senate building.
The group was protesting the Trump administration’s border enforcement policy. Sarandon and the other harpies demanded that families not be separated, which contradicts a decision made by the liberal Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
That court decided that the Obama administration’s policy of detaining families together was unjust.
So if families shouldn’t be detained and shouldn’t be separated, that only leaves one option: release.
The left wants open borders, but they don’t want to say it, even though they inch closer and closer to openly embracing such a radical policy.
Their new open borders-lite proposal is to abolish ICE and replace it with…well; they haven’t figured that out yet.
Sarandon and other prominent leftists unabashedly support socialism but never seem to be found when it goes wrong.
Sarandon was a huge supporter of Hugo Chavez and his embrace of socialism, yet hasn’t commented since Venezuela has descended into chaos.

The left applauded Chavez, even as he expropriated private businesses however he saw fit and appointed his cronies as officers.
As is always the case, the socialist experiment failed miserably. The waste, fraud, abuse, mismanagement, and disincentivization crippled the economy.
Hyperinflation and wage controls have rendered the bolivar a useless currency; one recent defector to Miami said he made more money cleaning houses in the United States than he did as a lawyer in Venezuela.
Caracas vaulted to the murder capital of the world, and citizens scavenge for any food.
Only socialism could take a country with enviable natural resources and turn it into a hellscape.
But Sarandon and other leftists don’t care. They’ve moved on to the next country where they can implement their radical policies.
Sarandon and her cohort are perfect exemplars of the definition of insanity.
