The NFL seems rife with rich and spoiled players.
To be fair, a few are great role models for young children and graciously give their time and money for good causes.
But one of NFL’s biggest star’s latest reaction towards a child was unbelievably immature and shameful.
Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton had an excellent year a couple of seasons ago in 2016, receiving the Most Valuable Player award after leading his team to the Super Bowl for the first time in ten years.
However, Newton’s character has been unpredictable. While he has never kneeled during the anthem, he is known to often behave like a child who was just put in timeout.
And Newton certainly acted like an infantile buffoon when one loudmouthed kid triggered him.
One boy said, “Hey Cam, can I get a fumble?” Another quipped to Newton, “What happened in the Super Bowl? Stop playing, I’ll fade you.”
The trash talk was all in jest, but Newton got in the kid’s face saying rather aggressively, “You gonna do what?”
If you didn’t already know, the 2016 Super Bowl is a sensitive subject for Newton because stud Denver Broncos pass rusher, Von Miller, recovered a fumble in the final minutes of the game, which sealed the Panthers loss.
Newton sparked criticism for acting like a sore loser during the post-game press conference—sulking, with his hood over his head and avoiding eye contact as much as he could.
He gave short answers and eventually stormed out of the press conference altogether.
In contrast, Newton’s behavior during the regular season is known to be overly arrogant—from his infamous Superman dance on the field or in the end zone, to taking victory pictures with his team before the game is even over.
So obviously, considering how he reacted towards these kids after a joke, it seems he has no intention of changing his attitude of immaturity anytime soon.
