Awards shows are apparently the place to vocalize opposition.
Since Donald Trump won in November, celebrities use awards shows to propagate a personal liberal agenda bias.
But ESPN’s ESPY awards was the first awards show to not utter a single word about President Trump, good or bad – but then something happened.
Watching the ESPYs, it was almost jaw-dropping that not one athlete, sports analyst or celebrity brought up Trump’s name once.
It was as if this was a perplexing alternate reality.
But as ESPN continues to face criticism over their obvious liberal bias, Michelle Obama showed up to present an award, and the entire crowd erupted in a standing ovation as if they all cried that they miss her.
Fox Sports reports:
Michelle Obama returned to the spotlight as a presenter at The ESPYs, drawing the loudest ovation at the awards show honoring the past year’s best athletes and moments in sports.
The former first lady made a rare public appearance since leaving the White House in January. She presented the Arthur Ashe Courage Award posthumously to Eunice Kennedy Shriver, founder of the Special Olympics.
Shriver’s son, Tim, accepted on Wednesday night in Los Angeles.
“I am here tonight to honor a remarkable woman, a woman who believed that everyone has something to contribute and everyone deserves a chance.”
“When we give others the chance to fulfill their greatest potential, we all win,” Obama said before being joined onstage by eight Special Olympics athletes.
“Through her passionate service, she made our world more welcoming, inclusive and fair.”
Shriver accepted the silver trophy from Obama, ‘Once a great first lady, still a great first lady,’ he said as the crowd roared.
Obama smiled with her arm on one of the athletes as Shriver urged that more work needs to be done to achieve equality toward people with intellectual disabilities.
“Our mother would have loved you,” he said. “She would have loved your forthrightness, your honesty, your toughness, your commitment also to get everybody on the playing field. She would have been so honored that you are here for her tonight as we all are.”
Obama walked off stage sharing a hug with one of the female athletes.
Yeah, Trump’s name wasn’t brought up, but the subtext was clearly there.
Every positive word that was said about Michelle Obama was an attack on the current administration, like when they said she “made the world more welcoming, inclusive and fair.”
That is a globalist liberal ideology.
And it was almost as if ESPN instructed presenters and winners to not bring up President Trump so that they could save their subtle protest for this very moment.
After all, ESPN can’t help but steering away from their liberalism.
Breitbart reports:
Choosing Michelle Obama as the face for its 2017 Courage award won’t help the network defeat the claims that the network is too liberal, a charge the sports network has been battling for years now.
Indeed, this is the third example of ESPN’s liberalism in just the last month alone.
In June the sports network appointed extreme anti-Trumper Connor Schell as its second in command.
Then, weeks later, the sports network chose liberal comedian Jon Stewart as a co-host for its SportsCenter coverage of the Warrior Games.
The liberal bent of the network has been bad enough to cause thousands of fans to stop watching its coverage.
Even as ESPN itself recently bought and paid for a poll that claimed the network has no problem with liberal bias, three other polls not paid for by ESPN showed a far different thing.
It could’ve been anyone else, but they chose Michelle Obama to present the Arthur Ashe “courage” award. Come on, you must think we’re all stupid, ESPN.
