The NFL finally got tired of the disgraceful anti-American anthem protests.
In response to the dozens of players who disrespected the country by kneeling, Commissioner Roger Goodell enacted a new policy that fines players for not showing respect for the flag.
While most Americans approve of the new policy, supposedly a handful of NFL players are contemplating a bold move to resist the change.
An alleged report suggests some players are considering sitting out the NFL season until former San Francisco 49ers Colin Kaepernick and Eric Reid are signed by a team.
Kaepernick made himself a league pariah and an enemy of patriotic Americans by starting the anti-flag protests in 2016 but transformed himself into a civil rights hero among the left-wing press.
The left’s broken moral compass considers love of country repellant—unless that country isn’t America—and attacks on the United States the highest form of patriotism.
In the leftist view of the world, every group is broken into two classes: oppressor and oppressed. Anyone or anything or any country that is successful must have become so through ill-gotten gains, and a lack of success is wholly attributed to oppression.
America is the richest and most prosperous country on the planet, and therefore evil. This is the ideology that has taken hold of Kaepernick.
In the past two years, Kaepernick hasn’t spoken much publicly but mentioned that he had become immersed in far-left critical race theory literature after taking a few classes at Berkeley in 2016.
Once taking this into consideration, Kaepernick’s protest and subsequent comments make perfect sense.
He attacks America because America is evil and racist.
He wears a Fidel Castro t-shirt because Castro was a freedom fighter who stood up to American aggression.
He goes to Ghana on the Fourth of July to celebrate his African roots because American independence isn’t worth celebrating due to its history of slavery.
These are the “facts” in Kaepernick’s mind. It doesn’t matter that America is probably the least racist country on the planet and black people are more prosperous here than anywhere else.
It doesn’t matter that Castro created a prison island with brutal human-rights violations that forced people to risk death in hopes of escape.
It doesn’t matter that Ghana was an active participant in the transatlantic slave trade, and slavery existed on the African continent centuries before Europeans ever arrived.
Kaepernick has dove head-on into far-left ideology, and he’s regrettably dragging down others with him.
If it’s true that players are considering a suicidal boycott, they should know their ringleader Kaepernick is ideologically possessed, and likely doesn’t speak to their values.
Black Lives Matter activist and writer Shaun King broke the rumors on Twitter:
Shaun King on Twitter
BREAKING: Several star @NFL players have told me they are considering sitting out the season until the de facto ban of Eric Reid and Colin Kaepernick is removed and both men are given spots back on rosters. They aim to get 25% of the players to sit out with them.
However, King isn’t above bending a narrative or running with a half-cocked story with little or no corroboration; King recently issued a mealy-mouthed apology after accusing a cop of rape and torture, claims which were proven demonstrably false after the body cam footage was released.
Independent sports journalist Clay Travis immediately threw cold water on King’s extraordinary claim:

Dude, this story is faker than your blackness. https://t.co/kQ8FwciRR0
King has been maligned for pretending to be black in order to take advantage of affirmative action opportunities. King’s biological mother is white, as is the father on his birth certificate. King claims the man on his birth certificate isn’t his biological father.
His genealogy hasn’t been substantiated, and the left doesn’t seem too interested in pressing the matter as it did with Rachel Dolezal.
Conservative commentator Candace Owens, who recently rose to prominence after rapper Kanye West singled her out for thinking freely, also chimed in with a savage reply to King:
Candace Owens on Twitter
Out of curiousity… are you still pretending to be black? https://t.co/sZa04UHRUa
Few NFL players have enough money to jeopardize their careers and endorsements, so King’s claim sounds more like a mix of half-serious musings and leftist wishful thinking.
But if the rumor were true, it would be a shame for players to throw everything away for a radical left agenda they wouldn’t believe in if they truly knew the details.
