The 2016 campaign process and General Election was a roller coaster,to say the least.
Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton was embroiled in scandal after scandal and yet she still led in nearly every national poll.
And HBO’s newest documentary about the twilight of Obama’s administration featured one precious meltdown upon hearing that Donald Trump defeated Clinton.
HBO’s latest documentary called The Final Year follows many senior Obama officials during the final year of the administration, which consequently leads up to the General Election where Trump shocked every Democrat – shattering all of their hopes and dreams.
Directed by Greg Barker, it featured former Secretary of State John Kerry, UN Ambassador Samantha Power, and National Security Advisor Susan Rice and HBO described it,
“as they sought to promote diplomacy and redefine how the U.S. confronts questions of war and peace, all while preparing to hand over the machinery of American power to a new administration.”
In the documentary, these Democrats were hilariously overconfident with the expectations that Hillary would crush Trump.
You might also remember that Hillary’s campaign staff was so sure that she would win that they reportedly popped champagne bottles on the plane before the results started pouring in on Election Day.
But they were in for a drunken rude awakening when Trump pulled off one of the biggest upsets in political history.
Ben Rhodes was one of those that was completely shell-shocked, who was the Deputy National Security Advisor for Strategic Communications in the Obama administration.
In The Final Year, Rhodes was completely inconsolable and incoherent upon hearing the news.
Ben Rhodes reacting to Hillary Clinton’s hilarious defeat in 2016 is the funniest part of the new Obama Documentary on HBO.
What makes it even better is throughout the documentary he brags how she is going to win. pic.twitter.com/MGBQNE5ATY

Rhodes was at a complete loss for words.
Another moment of distraught was when Baker showed Samantha Power shuttering when the winner was declared.
It was a total self-serving documentary that screamed liberal bias and portrayed Trump’s win as the biggest atrocity in the history of mankind.
These Obama officials pranced around as if they were saving the world with a condescending self-congratulatory sort of vibe to it.
Many critics panned the documentary and it wasn’t good enough to be featured in the Saturday night slot by HBO so that should give you an idea of how the network’s executives thought of it as well.
Glenn Garvin of Reason Online said it was,
“This sort of profoundly dishonest manipulation of the facts goes on constantly in The Final Year, ostensibly a report of the conduct of U.S. foreign policy during the final year of the Obama White House.”
Tara Brady noted,
“Unhappily, the ‘unprecedented access’ afforded Greg Barker’s often rudderless documentary largely consists of spin, pillow shots and political humblebragging. If you’re hoping for Obama’s very own West Wing spin-off, you’ll soon be disappointed.”
The biggest problem with the documentary is that these arrogant officials are always displayed in the best light problem, as if they never made a single mistake in their entire lives.
And then when you finally get to Trump’s victory, it’s like they’re wondering, “How could this have possibly happened to US? We’re perfect.”
Speechless Rhodes went on to create a political action committee called National Security Action PAC, which exclusively focuses on trying to bring down President Trump.
