Leftists are unraveling the fabric of America.
There used to be a certain level of civility where people with different opinions could coexist, but today liberals rejoice at increased chaos and demonization of conservatives.
One NBA Hall-of-Famer found this out after he attended a Trump rally, and was met with an unbelievable barrage of negativity.
Donald Trump spoke at a rally in Duluth, Minnesota to a raucous crowd of roughly 10,000 people.
One of the people in attendance was Boston Celtic Hall-of-Fame power forward Kevin McHale.
McHale was famous for his devastating low-post moves and scoring ability, but the left is determined to tarnish his legacy for attending a rally.
McHale didn’t even speak at the event. He simply sat in the crowd with his wife, who is a vocal Trump supporter.
Immediately members of the media called for McHale to lose his analyst job with TNT. Others said he should never get another coaching or front office gig in the NBA. Others, of course, called him a racist.
Left-wing ESPN writer Howard Bryant responded with a nasty tweet.
Bryant said of McHale:
“Poor white man from a forgotten Deep South town.”
Bryant is wrong. McHale isn’t from the Deep South. He’s from Minnesota, which is where the rally was taking place.
Perhaps that’s one of the reasons Bryant deleted the tweet.
Bryant has been one of ESPN’s most prominent purveyors of racial division.
He recently wrote a piece that was a “memo to white America” about the rectitude of the anti-American anthem protesters, and seven years ago he played the race card after being faced with charges of domestic violence.
Bryant (who is black) was arrested for choking his wife (who is white) in a restaurant parking lot. Bryant claimed race was the factor in his arrest, but ultimately took a plea of six months probation.
According to Bryant, McHale should be thrown on the trash heap for sitting in a crowd (McHale hasn’t even made political statements). One wonders what he thinks the punishment should be for domestic batterers.
All of this over-the-top animosity is a direct result of Trump Derangement Syndrome.
Leftists refuse to accept the results of a fair election, and they’re doing everything in their power to reverse Trump’s victory.
Their current tactic is to publicly shame anyone who supports Trump, either directly or tangentially.
Prominent Republicans have recently been run out of restaurants and movie theaters for having a different opinion.
This type of civic disintegration is incredibly troubling, and can only lead to violence. All it takes is one unhinged leftist to shoot up a congressional softball game.
Kevin McHale did nothing wrong. He sat in a crowd. He’s offered no political commentary. But according to the left, he committed high treason.
It would be a shame if the left got away with destroying his career for sitting in an auditorium.
If there is a bright side to the madness, leftists are showing the world just how insane and out-of-touch they truly are.
