Facebook has been under intense fire since early 2018.
The world’s biggest social media website was caught red-handed selling its users’ data to private companies, which resulted in CEO Mark Zuckerberg having to testify before Congress.
And now Facebook just made a deal with CNN that’s bad news for President Trump.
After the 2016 election, liberals were out for blood.
Journalists and politicians blamed Facebook for allowing “fake news” to cost Hillary Clinton the election.
Of course what they really meant was how dare Facebook not censor every news outlet that did not toe the liberal line.
Facebook allowed Americans to get their news from sources that didn’t always spoon-feed them liberal talking points.
And Trump expertly used social media to circumvent the liberal bias of the so-called “mainstream” media.
So the left went out on a crusade to strangle the ability of alternative media outlets to spread their content on Facebook.
And now the biggest social media site, with an estimated $2.2 billion users, has announced a new platform allowing the far-left to combat what they deem as fake news.
This new platform will include a twice-weekly news show from the progressive site“Mic” and a nightly show hosted by CNN’s Anderson Cooper.
CNN and Mic both perpetuate anti-Trump propaganda that makes liberals irrationally furious towards Trump supporters, which is incredibly dangerous.
Facebook’s head of Global News Partnerships, Campbell Brown, who is also leading the charge for the new platform claimed,
“Earlier this year we made a commitment to show news that is trustworthy, informative, and local on Facebook. As a part of that commitment, we are creating a dedicated section within Watch for news shows produced exclusively for Facebook by news publishers. With this effort, we are testing a destination for high quality and timely news content on the platform.”
Facebook’s claim of ramping up the “quality” of their news is raising concerns because what it really means is conservative sites will be censored, and only liberal news outlets will be promoted.
CNN’s Executive Vice President Andrew Morse said, “It was important to us that there was a fair value exchange, which there hasn’t always been.”
The only “fair value exchange” would be a promise of no lies or biased reporting, but we all know CNN isn’t capable of that.
To be fair, Facebook will have a Fox News segment called “Fox News Update,”but that will be hosted by none other than Shepard Smith—the most avowed liberal anchor on the network who’s been hypercritical of Trump and his administration since his inauguration.
Facebook claims they’re not a media company, but they’ve certainly put themselves in that position now.
As of August 2017, 67% of Americans said they get at least some of their news on social media, according to a new survey from Pew Research Center.
It’s clear that the flow of information will be predominantly liberal, which has also led critics to argue that this is intended to influence the 2020 election against Donald Trump.
