An ominous pall hangs over Hollywood.
The industry that prides itself on openness and tolerance has built a highly toxic intolerance to conservatives.
Liberals have run Hollywood for decades, but two prominent conservative actors explain that there’s something truly insidious festering in Tinseltown.
The liberal takeover of Hollywood was completed decades ago. An industry that once had many prominent conservatives like Jimmy Stewart and Frank Capra now only has a few able to show their faces.
Conservatives didn’t go away. They were driven underground, forced to meet in secret, and sometimes incognito to avoid cameras.
This was a move facilitated by the growing hostility among the “tolerant” liberals who lorded over the town.
But now Hollywood liberals’ intolerance has turned into downright retribution. All conservatives who aren’t big enough to withstand the backlash must be destroyed.
Outspoken conservative actor Antonio Sabato, Jr. detailed a story about how his career went up in smoke the instant he spoke out in support of Donald Trump:
“When I went to Cleveland and spoke for our president, as I came back, my agent, my managers were all gone. I had jobs lined up, they were all gone…That woke me up. It was communism all over again. You know, they’re not allowing us to speak our minds, to express how we love this country and it’s unfortunate.”
Sabato also highlighted the palpable dread that hangs over the heads of conservatives in the business.
“I know them very well and they’re very scared and they care about their paycheck and they care about working in TV shows and movies and they don’t want to jeopardize that and I totally understand that.”
Sabato was bold enough to call out this creeping totalitarianism where you’re free to speak your mind…so long as you have the correct opinions.
James Woods, another visible conservative actor, echoed Sabato’s claims and drew the comparison to 1950s Hollywood.
#Hollywood is a microcosm of the rage, bigotry, and deprivation of rights discussed here. After the 1950’s “red scare” California passed a law against political blacklisting. Hard to believe the industry that fought for that law now breaks it regularly. https://t.co/NvWBWyOulw

Woods also warned people in the industry about speaking up. The blacklisting has become so thorough, following the wrong people on twitter could lead to career death.
Be careful. The #liberals in casting offices literally check who you follow on #Twitter. They will blacklist you in a heartbeat. I appreciate your words immensely, but I don’t want you to lose your livelihood. They are sick, vicious people. https://t.co/ga3AfLnN14

As Sabato and Woods both pointed out, the left is using the same scare tactics they accused Joe McCarthy of employing in the midst of the Red Scare of the 1950s.
First, this shows the true hypocrisy of the left, and illustrates that they aren’t truly after equality. They’ve shown that when they get power, they want single-party rule.
Second, the left has successfully demonized Joe McCarthy — who admittedly went too far in his pursuits — to the point where history views him as the villain of the story, not the vast conspiracy to undermine the United States government.
Communism was not a cute notion. It was, and is, an evil system of governance that’s completely antithetical to freedom and human dignity.
American communists were praying for the Soviets to win the Cold War, and did their best to facilitate it.
That should be the story of the Red Scare, not an overzealous senator.
So if leftists believe turnabout is fair play, they’re delusional. Conservatives don’t want to undermine America. They want to preserve its ideals, while leftists want to “fundamentally transform” America into their socialist paradise.
Woods and Sabato have essentially been run out of the industry, and they’re not alone. Leftists want a monopoly over the control of information that gets disseminated to the public, so they cannot allow conservatives to have oxygen.
The only way the issue gets resolved is if more prominent people on the right step forward and create good content.
“Southpark” creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker delivered a gut punch at an awards ceremony where they stunned the crowd with two words: “We’re Republicans.”
Hollywood needs more of that. The culture can support more than one monotonous liberal slant.
