Since President Trump let go of Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation James Comey, there has been a widespread liberal panic attack about their “obvious” theory that Trump’s campaign colluded with Russia in the General Election.
On the night of his firing, CNN analysts were practically hyperventilating into a paper bag with the hyperbolic conclusions they all jumped to about the “meaning” and “timing” of the event. Regardless of the widespread conspiracy theories perpetuated by liberals, both parties agree in their dislike of Comey.
Most late night shows learned of the news only minutes before they start taping (between 6 – 6:30 pm EST). And one anti-Trump late night host was stunned by the audience’s reaction to his Comey joke.
The Washington Times reports:
Comedian Stephen Colbert had an awkward moment Tuesday night when his audience cheered the firing of FBI Director James B. Comey.
President Trump stunned the political world this week by dismissing Mr. Comey and citing a Department of Justice recommendation that he was unable ‘to effectively lead the bureau.’
The CBS “Late Show” audience — no doubt familiar with Mr. Comey’s handling of the agency’s investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s secret email server — cheered, but then quickly changed their tune with a scolding by Mr Colbert.
“Oh. Wow. Huge, huge Donald Trump fans here tonight!” Mr. Colbert said. “That shows no gratitude at all. I mean, did Trump forget about the Hillary emails that Comey talked about? I mean, ‘Thanks for the presidency, Jimmy. Now don’t let the door hit you where the Electoral College split ya.’”
The audience picked up on the comedian’s desired response and then booed at the first opportunity.
“I’m shocked. My heart is thumping. My pulse is racing,” Mr. Colbert said.
“He fired the FBI director, who has said under oath that he’s investigating the Trump campaign’s ties with Russia. No rationale has been given yet as to why, but it came on the recommendation of Attorney General Jeff Sessions.”
That’s forced response and manipulation at its finest.
And coincidentally, this was on a night when many of Colbert’s anti-Trump friends from The Daily Show showed up. Samantha Bee, John Oliver, Rob Corddry, Ed Helms and Jon Stewart all joined Stephen Colbert in a self-congratulatory, back-patting manner, while ripping Trump and backhandedly praising George W. Bush in a flashback scene of 2005.
But it’s that sudden near-mind-controlling vibe that Colbert had on his audience in that moment that implies they’re all just sheep in the liberal propaganda machine.
Twitter went wild.

The point is that nobody had faith in James Comey’s ability to lead the FBI, and yet liberals are just following what their leader thinks.
