Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is one of the most bankable movie stars in the world.
He’s also expressed interest in running for president in 2020.
And this fellow A-lister just surprisingly endorsed the megastar.
You can add actor and comedian Kevin Hart to the list of most bankable movie stars in the world.
Even in the stand-up comedy realm, Hart sells out football stadiums for his shows.
Together, you can find Hart and Johnson in the upcoming Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.
Hart has been consistent in refusing to talk about anything political during interviews and in his stand-up routines, saying he doesn’t want to “alienate” his fans—which is a wise move if you’re in the business of needing fans in these divided times.
But during an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Hart seemed to have changed his mind.
Breitbart reports:
“Hollywood superstar Kevin Hart sat down for an interview with Ellen DeGeneres on Wednesday with his Jumanji co-star Dwayne Johnson and said he’d support “The Rock” if he decided to run for president.
“I think the world that you’re living in today, you’re seeing the real effect that genuine people like Dwayne have,” Hart said when DeGeneres asked his thoughts on Johnson’s presidential potential.
“The one thing about him is he’s very serious when it comes to spreading that love, that laughter, and just the up-selling of life from a positive level, and if he were to put himself in that position he would get my support … unless it comes to a financial dollar, then we gotta talk,” Hart explained.
“But I know where his heart is — I really know him, and I know if he puts himself in that position for the better of the people, I can only applaud him and support him for doing that.”
Johnson made headlines in May when he told GQ magazine that there is a “real possibility” that he could challenge President Donald Trump in 2020.
“I think that it’s a real possibility,” Johnson, told GQ. “A year ago, it started coming up more and more.
There was a real sense of earnestness, which made me go home and think ‘Let me really rethink my answer and make sure I am giving an answer that is truthful and also respectful.’”
Johnson — one of Hollywood’s biggest and most bankable stars, from his highly-watched HBO series Ballers to his starring role in the Fast and the Furious franchise — also confirmed to DeGeneres that he’s “seriously considering” a White House run.
Since turning the political and entertainment world on its head with news that he’s considering the highest office in the world,
Johnson has been endorsed by the likes of left-wing documentary filmmaker Michael Moore and in July “Run the Rock 2020” was registered with the Federal Election Commission.”
Now, does ‘The Rock’ really think he has a shot at becoming president, or is this just a marketing ploy?
Because this topic only seems to come up when he’s promoting a movie.
